Why you should buy your custom video editing system from ADK

WHY US?

ADK Video Editing is a subsidiary of Advanced Design of Kentucky. ADK started in 1998 to feed one man’s hunger for newer and more powerful hardware. As time went on, the demand for high-quality professional video editing systems grew to the point where one company couldn’t handle the load. Thus, ADK Video Editing was started in 2001 to focus solely on the best and most powerful video editing hardware and software on the market.

Why buy from us? Take a look:

QUALITY: Quality computers, quality support, quality prices. We value quality over everything, and we’ll do whatever it takes to get the best of the best to you every time. We put every computer through a rigorous benchmarking and testing procedure, so we find problems before they reach you. We test the software and hardware you’ll be using in your editing suite whenever possible, to make sure everything will work together without a hitch. Finally, if you do find a problem, we’ll do whatever it takes to get it fixed fast. Our philosophy is that a satisfied customer is our best advertising, and we focus on satisfying every customer.

PEOPLE: Every member of our staff is qualified and experienced in their area of expertise, and we're constantly training, re-training, and cross-training to make sure we're up to date on the latest hardware and software. We don't hire "sales guys" who feed you canned answers and try to push you into spending more money than necessary. The person who assists you with your purchase is also fully qualified to assemble, install, test, and support your computer. In fact, you will often find yourself dealing with the same staff member from the pre-sale all the way through the sale and building process, and even afterwards should you have technical support issues. TECHNOLOGY: We stay on the bleeding edge of modern technology, and we’re the first to test and (if we like it) market new technology. We don’t take this responsibility lightly, however. Before we make a new item available for sale, we thoroughly test it throughout the company. In fact, each and every component in all our video editing systems has been tested with every major editing software on the market. Many video editing software and hardware manufacturers are a year or more behind the curve when it comes to technology, and will publicly say that certain new items are not compatible with their products. However, we have tested these products ourselves and found that they work, and if something works and it will make your editing experience better, we’ll sell it.

QUIETING: No one wants a “noise-box” in their editing suite, so we offer many options to make your system as quiet as possible. Our standard CPU fan, the Zalman 7000, is rated at 20db (with attenuator installed), and we also offer products like the SM CoolFlow, rated at 12db. Any case fans not already quiet are replaced with Vantec Stealth fans, again a 20db fan. We also offer a variety of vibration and noise dampening materials to further reduce the noise coming from your system. Another option is noise insulating foam, which we can add to almost any case.

ASSEMBLY: There are many things we do to a computer before it ships out, but it’s the little things that make the difference. We braid and carefully arrange the cables inside the computer, both because it looks great and to help improve airflow within the computer for more efficient cooling. We tweak both the BIOS settings and many things within Windows to free up as much power as possible for editing while reducing conflicts, and make sure that the operating system and all drivers are up to date. As if all that weren’t enough, you can send us your existing hardware and software (up to four items) and we’ll install and configure them at no charge! Finally, we run full tests on the machine, including video capture, basic editing and effects, an output render, and a DVD burn as a final check to ensure that your system is truly turn-key. After all that, we double-box your computer with carefully designed and tested packing techniques and ship it to you via two-day air.

WARRANTY: Our minimum (free) warranty covers parts and labor for any repairs for one year with Lifetime Technical Support, though you must pay for shipping both to us and back to you. The default warranty ($100) also covers parts and labor, but includes Express Pickup. Under Express Pickup, if the system needs to come back to our facilities for repair, we cover the shipping in both directions (in other words, at NO COST to you!). Certain parts do not qualify the system for Express Pickup, including memory, floppy drives, secondary hard drives, monitors, and others. We will ship these items to you two-day air (at no charge) and help you replace the part over the phone. We also include a return label so you can return the bad part to us (again, at no charge to you). We also offer an extended warranty, for a period of two years.

ACCESSIBILITY: When you call us (during business hours) you won't be stuck talking to a computer for twenty minutes then on hold for an hour. Instead, a real live human will answer the phone and direct your call to the appropriate department to assist you. After business hours, leave voicemail and someone will call you as soon as possible. You can also e-mail us after business hours, and we'll generally get a reply to you the same night. Click here to see our telephone contact information, or click here to e-mail a question or concern.

PRICE: We challenge you to look at our competition. Look at not only price, but what you get for that price: quality, warranty, customization, knowledge, ease of contact, and many other things. And if you do find someone doing a better job than we are, we’d love to know about it so we can do a better job ourselves.
