It plays with the authentic tone of the Juno-60
Syntronik J-60 gives you all the unmistakable warmth of the timeless tones of the Roland Juno-60. Produced between 1982 and 1984, the Juno-60 was a valid alternative to the unattainable Jupiter-8 (definitely out of reach of most) and has become a classic that has found a place on the records of hundreds of artists.
The Juno-60 features the same chip as the Jupiter-8 (the Roland IR3109) and uses DCOs - digitally controlled oscillators - instead of the canonical VCOs of the Jupiter - voltage controlled oscillators.
The presence of only one oscillator per voice (unlike the two available in the Jupiter-8) does not allow detuning on the Juno-60. On the other hand, Roland added an excellent chorus effect that made this instrument one of the most sought after for its unique and unmistakable character.
The Juno-60 has been used by so many artists that making a complete list would take up the whole page! Among these, however, we can mention: Enya, The Cure, Sean Lennon, Astral Projection, Vince Clarke, Men at Work, Flock of Seagulls, Howard Jones, Eurythmics, Billy Idol, The Cure, INXS, Ultravox and Nik Kershaw.
